Our History

About the Games

2024 marked another Olympic Year and in London SE1 we recall the London Games in 2012 and feel inspired by its legacy.

Living Bankside is pleased to announce and host the first “Hospitality Games” at Hilton London Bankside.

Given the abundance of hotels, restaurants and bars in our community and the thousands of people who are employed in the industry, many of whom are also residents in the area, it makes perfect sense for us to host this inaugural competition.

Fun, and a friendly competitive spirit, will be the order of the day. Hospitality Businesses and others will be asked to enter teams to take part in an array of japes and silly but skilful games.

Our Impact

Waiter Race

Team Relay Race (Teams of 4)

Trays of cups stacked on top of each other will be held aloft as competitors run back and forth from the start/finish line.

The winning team will have the fastest finish time.

If any cups are dropped then that team member must begin there race from the start line.

Our Impact

Bed Race

Teams of 2 will race against one another to make up a bed to showcase their speed, skill and dexterity.

The team with the fastest time will be crowned the winners.

Tug of War

In this athletic contest, two teams find each other at the opposite end of a rope, each team trying to drag the other across a centre line. Teams (of up to ten people in each) battle it out on the tug of war mat to be crowned the champions.

The late Jo Cox MP took part in the annual parliamentary contest.

Wacky Races

A feature of the annual The Great Get Together SE1, replicated at the Hospitality Games.

The Wacky Races are a series of games for people of all ages, including the following categories:

Egg and Spoon Race:

A relay race (teams of 4) carrying an egg in a spoon back and forth from the start/finish line.

If the egg is dropped then that team member must begin their round of the race from the start line/finish line.

The winning team will have the fastest finish time.

Three-legged Race:

Teams of 2 have one of their legs bound together and compete against others to the finish line.

The team to cross the line first wins the race.

Roll Throw

Contestants compete in teams of 2 throwing loo rolls back and forth in a line with other teams. Each round they will take 2 or more steps back.

The winning team will successfully throw the loo roll back and forth with the biggest distance between them. If a team fails to catch the loo roll they are eliminated from the game.
